The pentagram is a symbol of the four alchemical elements - earth, air, fire and water. A fifth upward facing point represents the human soul. The four elements and the spirit are within the circle to symbolize everything is connected, and that everything occurs in a cycle..

Iolite has a delicate and pretty violet blue color. Iolite gemstones are sometimes referred to as water sapphires due to their resemblance to light blue sapphires. 

The ring is Textured brass and 92.5 sterling silver with faceted iolite gemstones.

Inspiration

I met Amritaa the lovely designer of this pendant at a trade show and was so impressed by her and her partner Aman's corporate responsibility to their business and the people that work for them. 

They encourage their artisans in India to take on youth without education as apprentices. This allows the youth to learn a new trade, and build their career.  They also provide support to their artisans to ensure that their children are going to school.

Aman and Amritaa are also involved with an orphanage in North India called ‘Bal Sadan'
